I know, I know

Hello everyone.  Yes, I am behind again.  What's new though, right?

Daisie

I have been spending time away from Andy and doing girl things.  Just yesterday I had a pedicure and lunch with the girls from work.  It was so nice to spoil myself a little bit.  I actually spoiled myself too much because I got myself a dress.  I can't wait to wear it!  I just have to find shoes that go well with it.

The week before Annie and I went and had our nails done and then met up with Andy and her husband Eric for dinner.  It is nice to have a couple to hang with now and then who are like us...old with no kids =).

Other than that, I have been just working and watching softball.  Andy will soon leave for deployment and he wants me to continue to go to the softball games so I can keep him updated.  I'm not going to commit to that just yet.  He worries that I'll be lonely and/or won't get out of the house once he leaves.  During the week this might be accurate.  I tend to be tired when I get off work and want to relax.  I get bored on the weekends though and prefer to be out of the house and doing something.  We will see how it all goes once he leaves.

Andy

Andy had a successful softball tournament last weekend.  They got 3rd place!  So much better than the previous tournament when they lost right away.  Andy had been studying a lot for some qualification stuff he has at work.  I help him study and we have learned a lot!  But we all know Andy is not all work.  Besides softball keeping busy, he has been playing basketball.  He goes in the morning before work sometimes and comes home so sweaty and gross.

Tonight he plans on making a meal that his mom makes.  I hope it turns out well for him.  It has asparagus in it.  We are doing much better at eating our veggies.  We eat so much healthier than we used to at our old place.  Thank goodness...although I think Andy sneaks in McDonald's more often than I know about =)

Bye for now!

Andy's Test

I have no idea why I'm behind on the blog again! But lets just jump right in.

It has been a very tough time in our household. Last Sunday night we didn't sleep well at all. Andy was tossing and turning because we knew this week the scores would come out for his E-5 test. On Wednesday, we found out you could view your score and see if you made it at 2 in the morning on Thursday. Of course Andy wasn't going to be able to sleep, so we went to the midnight showing of Terminator. It was good, but I liked Star Trek better. After the movie we went to his hanger to see the results. Forty-five minutes later, he still couldn't get logged on but we figured out how we could look at home. So we went home and about another forty-five minutes later we were able to see his scores. He missed picking up E-5 by 2.31 points.

As you can imagine, there was great disappointment in the eyes of Andy. He will take the test again in September when he'll be deployed. I have to say that I am very proud of Andy. We didn't sleep hardly at all on Wednesday night, perhaps only forty minutes and he still got up and went to work with a positive attitude. Then he went to volunteer at an elementary school in town for their carnival. He is still disappointed, but he remains optimistic for the next time around.

Was it only Monday?

Today was only Monday but it felt like a Wednesday. Andy agreed with this as well.

Tonight I made chicken and rice from a recipe I found on the internet. It was ok but Andy says he really liked it. We sure have been stretching our cooking muscles lately. We cook all the time now!

Speaking of food...I have really been going outside of my box and trying new foods. At the Japanese restaurant I ate grilled mushrooms. At lunch with Annie, I ate big onion rings. Normally I just eat the fried batter, but on Saturday, I ate the whole thing. I really enjoyed it. And tonight, I ate cauliflower for the first time. It was good. I added veggies to the chicken and rice. I'm pretty proud of myself for experiencing new things.

In softball news, Andy's team run ruled their opponent tonight. Andy got a triple and a single and scored both times. He did this after I gave him a hard time about not getting on base his first time at bat. I think I might have motivated him :-).

Have a great day everyone. It is my bed time. I love blogging from the phone!

Ready!

Oliver is ready for the summer and lounging at the beach! Check out his new outfit. I must say, I adore Oliver, but my friend Shauna has the cutest puppy! I might be just a bit jealous :-)

Weekend Roundup

It is half-time of the Lakers game, so I thought I would catch up on the blog very quickly.

We are sad that one of couple friends have left the island. Leigh Ann is headed home to start school this coming semester and her husband is staying behind to finish out his orders. I'm going to miss her sooo much. We went to a Japanese steak house for her going away dinner this past Thursday. It was yummy.

Other than that, it has been a pretty quiet weekend for Andy. We went bowling on Friday night with some other friends but on Saturday, he stayed home all day and played his game. I went with Annie to do some wedding shopping stuff with her. I got Oliver a new outfit that I will show you later. I have to keep his Lakers outfit on until the game is over =).

Other than that, it is a pretty easy going weekend. I did buy two new plants that I will try and get planted this week. The first one I got, I don't think is going to make it in the ground. It isn't looking very good.

Lastly, in my dreams last night we chocolate chip cookies and brownies. I'm going to see if I can convince Andy to make some more cookies today. They were soooooo delicious!

The Puzzle is Done!

Andy got off work at noon on Friday, so he went home and finished the puzzle.  He actually left me three pieces so I would be the one to finish.  What a nice husband!
Here I am with the last piece.

Me putting the last piece in.

The finished product!  We just gone done gluing it and will be hanging it soon.

What a day!

Today was so hectic at work for both Andy and myself. I suppose if Andy wants to talk about his day, he'll write a blog about it. So I'll talk about mine since I'm writing it at the moment. I'm not sure what the deal was because I thought the full moon had passed, but the babies were very off today. By lunch time I had already felt like I had used up all my days worth of energy. I'm just always thankful for the moments that make me and the other girls laugh during these rough days. We certainly have some funny babies in our room!

In softball news...Andy had a game this evening. They won 16-1 and ended the game in 30 min. The team scored that one run on there first time to bat with an in field home run. I was a bit nervous when that happened. But thankfully, they could not play very well in the field and our guys can. They are now 3-1 for the season. Not bad!

Phone Blogging

I L-O-V-E blogging from my phone. It is so easy to share little tid-bits from our world that I might not other wise share. Not because I don't want to but because I don't think to write about them. I find (I know it has only been a few days) that I blog more now that I can do it from my phone too. Technology, gotta love it!

In other news...is it really only Tuesday (Wednesday when anyone reads this)? I'm already tired and the week has really only just begun. All my teacher friends will soon be on summer vacation and I'll still be working. I find this to be completely unfair! But at the same time, I find the time goes by quicker if I work. Andy will soon leave for another short deployment and work will help me with missing him.

Good night all. I miss hearing from all of you out there...the time difference is just awful. But I do think about all you often.

Why is it always about Andy?

Here is Andy sitting this evening in our house. He doesn't know how to act with air conditioning. Who wears a sweat shirt, shorts and furry house shoes in Hawaii? Andy does!

The Puzzle

We have been working on this puzzle for weeks and we are almost done. The problem is, we are doing the sky and it is SO hard! Here is Andy working on it. I'm working on it too, I just happen to be the one that took the pic. Bye for now.

All Andy

Here is a picture that I took of Andy at softball. Sorry it's not a great one. I took it with my phone from a bit aways. But here is my question. Who wears white pants to play softball :-). Andy does! I sprayed them with shout and washed them two times (didn't dry them the first time) and do you think they got cleaned? Heck no! Of course it isn't a big deal. But white pants to play softball? Haha, gotta love it!

Testing It Out

I recently signed up to be able to do blogs from my phone email and then it would appear on here. This is my first attempt at it. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Today was a very low key day for us. We had plans of planting my flower I've had for a while now and going to a bbq. We did neither of those things. We did go grocery shopping, took a long nap, made cookies from scratch, and made meat loaf and mashed potatoes for dinner. So relatively productive-oh and all the laundry got done as well!

We think being in the sun all day yesterday for Andy's softball tournament wore us out. Andy's face is pretty red and I'm pretty tan as well. We won't talk about the tournament very much. They played two games and lost them both. BUT, Andy played very well. Not to mention he had Long John Silver's for lunch (the only one on the island and 45 minutes away). It's the one thing Andy kept talking about since we were playing at the fields so close to it. So a group of us went to eat there.

And with that, the weekend is over. We went to sleep very early last night (just a tad past 8) and we are already talking about going to sleep early tonight. Our eyes are hurting and feel ready to shut. So with that, good night to all of you out there! I hope everyone had a great mothers day.

I also hope this posts!

Bittersweet Mother's Day

Last year during this time we were pregnant. Andy had bought me the box set of Sex and the City as a gift. It was such an exciting time. Unfortunately, we miscarried at the end of May (the 28th). I can't help but think how amazing it would have been to be celebrating my first mother's day.

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there that read this. I hope it is a memorable day with your kiddos. =)

A little of this and that

Home Stuff
Andy and I continue to make our house a home. We have both been cooking more (real food-not from a box) and eating dinner at the table. The other day, Andy made a pot roast in the crock pot. It was so tender, you could cut the meat with a fork. Andy hasn't given me the pictures yet, but I'll post them when he does. I keep my camera at work to take pics of the babies, so now we use Andy's all the time. But it is set up for his Mac, not my PC.

Last night we made a pork roast with real mashed potatoes. And for dessert, strawberry shortcake. Andy's part was easy, he opened a roast and threw it in the oven. I did the work last night. I didn't mind though. We had one of friends over (Ed-do you remember me talking about him? We go snorkeling with him all the time). He is preparing for his upcoming wedding in mid June. My strawberry shortcake didn't help his situation with wanting to lose a few pounds before the wedding =).

Work
Yesterday I was extremely frustrated at work. Things often change without notice, people tend to stick their nose into things that don't concern them, and people not being supportive of new ideas. Yesterday I felt extremely down about work and very negative towards it. Today is a new day and I must be thankful for the ladies that work with me in the room and our babies who make us smile everyday.

In puzzle news....our puzzle is just about complete. We only have about 100 out of 1,000 pieces left to go!

Softball
Lastly, Andy has a softball tournament this weekend. I'll take pictures. He also has a game this evening for his command softball team. We'll take pictures in our jersey's. I think I mentioned that we ordered hats-that might have been stupid since Andy will only be playing with them for a short time. Oh well I guess.

I thought maybe the headings would be good so if you wanted to skip over something, you'd know what to skip. I tend to put a lot of stuff in one post. Bye for now.

We have...

DUCKS! I came home from a jewelry party last Sunday and there were ducks in our front yard. Andy put out water for them and took a picture. There were two out there but Andy got this picture.

I don't hear anything

Ever since moving in, I find that our weekend is full with getting things for the house. This weekend was no different. On Saturday we went to the Navy Exchange to get an electric drill/screwdriver. It was the only thing we needed. But why did we walk out of there with a Bose Home Theater (surround sound)?

Andy HAD to have it because we were having people coming over to watch game 7 of the Celtics and Bulls playoff game. I went to the commissary to get snacks and I fully expected to come back home and to hear this amazing sound coming from the TV. Nope...I heard nothing! So I went about my business not saying much. I started preparing the snacks. Andy was so cute. He asked how I was doing in the kitchen. I said fine and I asked him in return. He said he felt over whelmed. He kept working on it and would ask, do you hear it? I don't hear anything. Not what he wanted to hear. Needless to say, we did not have surround sound for the game.

It is working now and sounds great. But our dilemma is...to have an entertainment room now or not to. I know, I know...must be a tough life if that is our dilemma. But with a really nice new TV and surround sound in the living room, shouldn't we enjoy it?
We can't find a coffee table that we like so....a box will do for now right? LOL...just for the party!

Andy apparently took a picture of one of my snacks. It's a piece of chicken wrapped in bacon. You coat it with brown sugar and chili powder. It is soooo good!

Banana Bread

Andy and I had wanting to make banana bread. We bought the bananas days in advance so they would be ripe. I asked everyday if they were ready. When I finally saw a fruit fly I told him it was time! I got a recipe from the Internet. Here is Andy making it. He let me sift the flour and beat an egg. I don't mind though, I love to watch him bake. He really looks like he enjoys it.
Andy mushing the bananas
Pouring the sugar
Me, getting to beat an egg (Oh, I got to melt the butter too!)
After I sifted the flour
Finished product...looks pretty huh!
We had lunch and Andy surprised me with a piece of the bread since I had to leave to work before it was done...the first bite.
Delicious!

Softball

Andy had a softball game last Tuesday. They are 2-0! Andy wanted me to mention that he scored his first run and had 4 RBI's. Yes, I wore my jersey. We just ordered hats (I got a visor) that match our jerseys. We didn't take a picture but I will next time. Andy and some friends are trying to get into a softball tournament this next weekend so he won't be able to play at their next game which is Friday. The tournament starts on Friday. So we'll see. I'll take pictures for sure though!

Happy Friday!

Can you believe Friday is here? Goodness where does the time fly? This week Andy has had to work nights, so I kept myself busy with my new friend Annie on Wednesday night. On Tuesday, Andy went and bought me Bride Wars. It was a really good and funny movie. Did I mention I got a movie but Andy bought us (himself) a new 52 inch TV? Anywho...the movie was a good girlie movie. Andy wants to see it as well.

Last night I had plans with my friend Leigh Ann and her husband Keith to go to the local farmers market. I was so thrilled that Andy was able to join us since he only worked for 2 hours and then got sent home. The farmers market has the usual veggies, fruit, and plants, but also yummy food stands. So we had dinner there. We also purchased an outdoor plant that I intend to plant this weekend. That should be comical since I have to idea what I'm doing, suggestions welcome. We ended out evening with a trip to Pier 1 for some candles and some ColdStone.

This weekend is going to be very busy but I'll make time to write a post of us (mostly Andy) making banana bread from scratch. I just have to get the pictures from Andy. Talk with everyone soon.

NOTE: This was a better post, but I went to publish it and received an error. Nothing had saved so this was the rushed version...sorry.
