I used to be a teacher

One of the biggest pet peeves I had when I was a teacher was when my students didn't read directions. It's a very basic concept. Read the directions so you know what to do and then do it. If you don't read the directions, you'll most likely have to redo whatever it is you are doing.

That being said, I got one of those Swifter Jet Dry mop things. I put it all together and I pressed the button for the solution to come out. Nothing happened. Did I read the directions you might ask. Of course not! I finally read them and it says I need four AA batteries. When did I get out of practicing what I teach?

Interestingly enough, Fenway (The Sirkin's puppy) is a swifter. He loves being outside but doesn't want to go outside. So you have to drag him on the floor to get him outside. =) Funny dog.

Hospital Visit

As most of you know, I have been sick off and on through the pregnancy. I've been lucky to not have morning sickness or any of the normal pregnancy stuff. However, I get flu like symptoms without the fever. And I feel like this every few weeks. Once again I started to feel yucky on Sunday night. By Monday I was in bad shape and even went home from work at noon. Today I again woke up feeling bad and called into work. I went to the hospital to see what is going on with me.

SIDE NOTE: I would have liked to go to the clinic that on my base. But they won't see me because I'm pregnant. This makes me a bit mad because I'm feeling just plain sick and I don't think I should have to go to the OB clinic because I have body aches.

I waited to hours to see the doctor at this walk-in clinic. I told him everything that was going on and in the end he told me what I already suspected. My body just gives out on me and gets sick. I need to rest more was pretty much my prescription. How will that work out when I work full time? Yes, I know I could rest more after work, but I don't want to just sit at home all the time. I have energy again and I want to do stuff.

One good thing was that the doc did an ultrasound just to check on Annabella. She was sleeping I guess but she had a good heartbeat. I love seeing her!

It's Fall...

but not in Hawaii. Okay, technically it's fall here...but its still sunny and in the eighties everyday. I miss seeing the leaves change colors and smell of the crisp cool air. It will be nice when we have seasons again. LOL...but until then, I'll enjoy wearing my flip flops every day!

Nausea

Well here I am in my second trimester and I'm now finally getting sick. I am now getting car sick. Here I thought I was going to be lucky and not get nauseous, but apparently not. If you recall I tossed my cookies back when I went on a mini-vacation with the Sirkins. It just happens I was with them this time when I tossed my cookies. Is it Eric's driving or just pregnancy...hmmm?

So the story goes like this. Annie suggests the morning of that we go to Cheesecake Factory for their last night staying with me. I was looking forward to it all day. We live about 30 minutes away or so. In that 30 min. I started feeling a bit ill. I ordered a sprite to settle my belly and ate my food just fine. Unfortunately, I was way too full to eat cheesecake. But my belly was still not feeling quite right. Right away on the way home, I started to feel nauseous. I couldn't even talk to Annie or Eric. And Andy called and I got off the phone with him right away. I sat in the back seat, eyes closed, breathing slowly in through my nose, out through my mouth.

We stopped at their old place to pick up a few things. I got out of the car fast and barely made it to some dirt when I threw up my $30.00 meal. So sad. Everything came up. I broke so many blood vessels in my face. I had little red bruises all over. My eyelids were the worst.

Roommates and a puppy

This week I've had company living with me. Last weekend I went to Costco to see if I wanted to become a member. I went with Annie and Eric. I'm not quite sure how it happened, but we ended up going on a puppy chase. They ended up getting a Lhasa Apso. Cutie pie!

Their current place doesn't allow pets, so I offered to let the whole family stay over with me for the week. They move into a house on base this weekend.

I have wanted a puppy for a long time but have been pretty content with having Oliver instead. When we went to look at all the puppies, I thought I want a puppy. I take it back. The idea is nice but I don't think would work for us. Puppies take a lot of time and patients and I don't have either of those right now. So I think babysitting Fenway (the puppy) will be good enough for me.

I keep growing

I keep waking up to find that my belly has grown. Yes, I know this is what's supposed to happen. But I am mentally unprepared for all the things that happen to my belly. My stomach itches all the time, my belly button feels likes its going to tear, heck...my whole stomach feels like its going to tear sometimes. When my belly feels very tight and its stretching, Andy tells me to drink 7-up to make it feel better. I told him I don't think that will help, but he thinks 7-up helps all belly issues.

Anywho...so I keep telling Andy how weird it all is for me. There is so much that I never even thought about when we decided to try for a baby. For example, I didn't think about how I would need new jammie pants. Andy says "just wear sweats". I don't have sweats. He says I can wear his. I don't want to wear his huge sweats that barely even fit him! Oh, that Andy thinks he has an answer for everything.

All I'm saying is (and Annie said this and I'm stealing it) I just don't think I was fully mentally prepared for all of this stuff. I just didn't know.

New Belly Pic

I woke up on Monday and what do you know...my belly is bigger. I thought I should share with you. Yes, the roll of toilet paper was empty and yes Andy called me out on it. I actually think he likes that its empty all the time. He laughs about it. I will now be taking pictures in our third bathroom that we never use so I know it will be clean and the roll of toilet paper won't be empty.

Andy was also very excited when I told him I thought I might have gained weight. But since I don't have a scale, I can not confirm or deny that. Although food has gotten its appeal back and I'm loving it! However, I have been eating healthier. Okay, I eat healthy about 80% of the time and the other 20% of the time I'm indulging in all kinds of naughty things like Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

On other news...

This week I had pink eye. First in the left eye and then in the right eye. I can't catch a break! Even now as I type, my throat hurts, I have a runny nose, and my back hurts super bad. Complain, complain, complain =). Andy's solution is to drink 7-up. Just kidding, but he does say that to me a lot.

Annabella got a new blanket and more clothes last night. I kinda can't help myself.

I guess that's all for now. I'm going to take a bit of a nap before I do some things for work and eat dinner. I had a little bag of homemade cookies right after work and so I feel full right now. Talk with you soon.

Really?

Where do I start? How about from the beginning?

The other night I made me a salisbury steak frozen dinner and took it upstairs to eat in bed. When I got into the bed, I dropped my salisbury steak right there on the sheets and some of the sauce got on to the blanket as well. Good think the sheets are dark and not our white ones that are Andy's favorite. All I could think of is great! Andy's going to kill me!

I clean it all up and put the blanket to wash right away. I then put it in the dryer and washed the sheets. In my baby making me lazy days that I'm having, it took me several days to get the blanket out of the dryer. I knew I was going to have to rewash the sheets (no big deal)...but as I opened the dryer to pull out the blanket I all I could smell was the dang blanket! I forgot to start the dryer! So now I had to rewash and dry all of it all over again.

Back to the salisbury steak. I know I could have just went along my merry way and not mentioned this to Andy, but I felt guilty and told him. Do you know what he said?!?! "I told you not to eat in the bed." Yeah, yeah! I wish I knew how to write the sound that your tongue makes when you stick it out and make it make that sound. That's what I wanted to do to Andy. =)

That should make me not want to eat in bed anymore, but last night, I ate my dinner there and I didn't feel bad about it one bit! =)

Big Baby Purchase

Today I went and got the travel system for Annabella. It has the car seat and stroller combo. I researched and made sure we got something very safe for her. It felt weird to get it. I think it doesn't feel very real, its overwhelming, and scary all at the same time.

So I think I'll wait to make any more decisions until Andy gets back. He'll be home very soon and then we can pick stuff out together.

Here is Annabella's new ride, also named Bella. I'm not kidding, that's the name of the travel system.

A little of this and that

Baby Bates:

We have decided on a name, which is Annabella Rose. We've heard a lot of people often change the name when baby is born, so nothing is set in stone. She is supposed to double in size over the next few weeks so I wonder if that means my belly is going to get quite a bit larger over the next few weeks. Andy is still concerned that I haven't gained weight yet, but I think that will happen over these next few weeks. My appetite is back and I find that I need to eat every few hours. I've been eating healthy snacks. I just need get those veggies in there somehow.

I went shopping for her already and so has my mom and nephew. She's already received outfits from friends. I asked Andy if he was going to spoil her and he gave a sideways smile and said no. I have a feeling that Annabella might already have her daddy wrapped around her little baby finger.
Andy:
It looks like he will be home soon. That makes me very happy. Its getting boring around here without him. He is very bored out there. He kinda gets grumpy sometimes and its because he's going out of mind there. His test was this past Thursday. He feels positive about it and he did study quite a bit for it.

Me:

My stress level has decreased immensely and I'm getting a bit of energy back. Today I was out of work with possible pink eye. I keep getting sick. By Friday my body falls apart and what ever is going around I pick up. Goodness! I'll take it over morning sickness any day!

In addition to all of this. I do want to put a link to my friends blog. It's about the President and I found it to be a very good point of view and similar to my thinking. I know this can be a controversial topic and there are a lot of sides to every situation. None the less, I wanted to share. http://schancefamily.blogspot.com/2009/09/rock-on-mr-president.html

Sick or Pregnant Sick

Today I am home early because I'm not feeling well....again. I wonder if I'm pregnant sick or real sick. It's a bit frustrating to me to be honest. I haven't had any real pregnancy symptoms compare to others have. No morning sickness, very little nausea, LOL...what are other pregnancy symptoms? Okay, I've only been really tired, can't stand the smell of meat cooking, and lower back pain. So when my joints hurt and I feel achy, that has to be real sick....right?

I never want to use my pregnancy as an excuse not to do something. And while I'm home today, I sure do hope its because I do feel real sick and not pregnancy sick.

Our Baby

Today we had our ultrasound to find out the gender of our baby. As most of you know, our baby is a girl. I am posting these pics because some of my friends don't have facebook. But I also wanted to share the experience with everyone.

I had Andy on speaker phone so we would find out the gender at the same time. It worked out perfect. It made me so happy to share this with him since I've kind of been on my own. Well...Annie has been with me for all the ultrasounds.

Our little girl waved at us and kicked for us. She was very active and put on quite a show. I had tears rolling down my face the entire time. I'm still amazed that we are pregnant and that things are going so well (knock on wood). Every time I have seen her move or hear her heartbeat I fall deeper in love with her. She has made me so happier beyond words can express.

I get another ultrasound in about a month and I'm hoping Andy will be here for that one. At about 26-27 weeks we're going to get the 4D ultrasound done. I got to see a glimps of her in 4D today and she looked amazing.

She's looking at us. Do you see her little fingers under her face?

Profile picture of our little.

Her legs are up in the air and showed us she's a girl! See the white part...thats her spine.

Eating for two

Okay, not really eating for two. But I did have a really yummy dinner and scrumtious dessert. Annie and I went out to dinner and I had a turkey club. Now, you are not supposed to eat deli meat. I however am in love with turkey right now. I think I could eat it everyday. I don't. But I really want to. Please don't pass judgement. Remember, not too many things are appetizing to me. I also had curly fries with cheese. Most of it was gone...well Annie ate most of my fries I think =).

After dinner we had to run to the grocery store and what do you know! There was a baskin robbins next door. Last Sunday I wanted baskin robbins really badly, but I didn't know where one was and I was way too lazy to get out of bed. I almost made Annie wreck because I gasped and she slammed on the breaks.

Oh funny story! We both almost tripped walking into the dang grocery store! It was quite funny. But doesn't sound quite as funny when I'm writing it.

We then went to baskin robbins and had dessert. Oh it was soo sooo soooo delicious. I might have been completly full from dinner but there is always room for dessert!

Doc Appt #2

I can't believe I've only been to the doctor twice. I went one other time as an emergency situation...so that doesn't count. So I've only had two real appointments. My first one at 8 weeks and now this one at 15 weeks. My friend that's pregnant goes all the time. She's going to an outside doctor and I'm going to the military doctor. So I'm sure that's why.

Anywho, it went very. I heard the heartbeat and it was 159. I cried when I heard it. So darn emotional these days!

Headaches are almost a daily occurrence but normally tolerable. Sometimes they are unbearable. My doc prescribe something to take once in a while.

Oh I know! I haven't gained any weight...at all! I had gained like 1 1/2 pounds, but have lost that. The doc is not concerned since I'm just barely in my second trimester. I have 25 weeks to gain about 25 pounds =). Andy is not happy though. He thinks I need to eat more. Well you guys already know that food isn't appealing to me right now. But I do eat! Once Andy gets home, I'm sure I'll gain lots of weight =).

Maternity Clothes

Last Saturday, myself and two of my friends (Annie and Danielle) went to look at maternity clothes and baby stuff. I am going to start by saying that I HATE trying on clothes. That takes a lot of time and prefer not to do it. Maternity clothes are a whole different story. You have to try them on. It exhausted me to have to try all those clothes on. Not to mention I was a bit heartbroken when I have usually been a medium and I had to get large. Mostly because apparently my boobs have gotten bigger. Yeah, I know....TMI.

I think its crazy that so many people buy maternity clothes online. How will they know if they'll fit when it seems to me like the whole size thing is so unreliable.

Well at least now I have clothes that fit a little better. I wasn't able to button some of my pants and my wardrobe was getting limited. Work clothes aren't a big deal since I wear sweats most of the time. But to out and about, I needed the clothes.

A bit behind

I have lots to blog about but I haven't been able to find the time. Hopefully tonight I will sit down and tell you about the past few days. Have a great day everyone!

Appt today

I had an appointment today and everything going well. Baby's heartbeat
was 159. The old wives tale that has been proven wrong, would say
that means we're having a girl. It's fun to guess, but I'm really
looking forward to Sunday!

What are we having?

We are finding out the gender of the baby this Sunday at noon Hawaii time! I'll let you know!
