Andy's Deployed

I know I have been absent on here for a while but everyone (including our parents) that looks at our blog is also on Facebook. So I feel like I'm doing double duty sometimes. But I suppose I get to tell the funny stories on here and on Facebook, you only see a glimpse into what is going on in our world.

Today Andy left for deployment. He is technically still here and doesn't leave for another hour. I dropped him off and we said our good-byes and I came back home. It was very hard for both of us and it seemed easier for me to leave rather than stick around and him see me crying. He's going to a place he's never been before. That is exciting and hard at the same time. We are hoping we'll be able to communicate often.

In addition to Andy leaving today which is sad, a happy thing is also occuring. My friend Annie is having her wedding today! I'm staying in Waikiki tonight in a fancy hotel so I won't have to drive back to this side of the island. I'll take pictures and post them on here and Facebook. I'll be dining of prime rib for the dinner. I'm pretty excited about it.

Well I am going to take a nap before I get my day started. Andy and I have been up since four this morning getting everything prepared. I made him some turtle brownies for his long plane ride. If you pray, please pray for Andy and his safe return.
