So much to chat about!

Hello again. I have so much to talk about, so lets dive right in.

Andy and I had a few plans before I came out here. They were, get married, go to The Big Island, and go to Maui (not in any particular order). Me being here for only a month and a half though, we didn't really have time to go to the Big Island and Maui. So then we decided we would go to Maui. I looked at the prices and they were reasonable (at the time). By the time Andy's time off got approved the prices went way up. I'm a pretty frugal person with money (true, I wasn't always this way) and it freaked me out to spend that much money. And we would spend that and still have to spend more money to eat and do stuff. You can't go on vacation and not do anything. Sightseeing cost money (around here anyway). Sooo...we have decided to do those two islands when I come back next year. BUT, that being said, we are going to do some stuff around here instead. We are going to swim with the dolphins and (per Christine's suggestion) go on a helicopter ride. I'm very excited!

Speaking of being "excited", today we went snorkeling with one of Andy's friend. This was the first time I had ever went and I was quite nervous. Well for one, I can't swim and you have to breathe through a tube. Well, we went to a beautiful place called Hanauma Bay (sorry, no pics but if you YOUTUBE it, you can see what it looks like) which is a snorkeling wonderland. I failed! I kept freaking out and feeling like I couldn't breathe. So while Andy and Ed snorkeled, I laid on the beach and worked on my tan. While I was working on my tan it started to rain a hard, cold rain. Geezzz...and I hardly got any color! But I did protect the phones from the rain =). I know what's important. I am going to continue to practice snorkeling because I would love to see underwater.

Tomorrow I'm going golfing (okay, okay, TRY to go golfing). You should have heard my dad's reaction when I told him I was going. If you don't know, he's a VERY good golfer. He plays a lot. His advice to me was "go early and go on the driving range". So I will. I told Andy that if I don't do well on the driving range (I'm not fooling myself, there is a very good chance of that happening), that maybe I would just drive the cart while him and his friend played golf. Besides, I would hate to spend so much money renting clubs and the golfing fees to just want to stop playing on hole 2. And that probably would happen. I'll let you know how it goes though. You never know.

Well good night for now.

Apparently, the look was priceless

I must start this blog with saying that I'm very disappointed in the Lakers loss last night to the Celtics. But I have to say, the Celtics deserve the win. The Lakers were playing sloppy and it wasn't their night. Now on to better things!

As I said yesterday, Andy was going to take me to Wal-Mart last night. How odd..."Andy taking me to Wal-Mart". Some of you may not know this, but I really don't like to drive. If I was back home I would love it if someone took me to Wal-Mart, or anywhere else for that matter...LOL. But when the option is taken away, it's hard. Okay...it's not taken away because Andy would gladly hand over the keys, but I'm not sure I can handle driving here very well. The streets are so narrow, the highway is soooo curvey, and there are all kinds of lines on the road that make it hard to figure out. I'm really in no hurry to drive downtown! All that being said, lets get back to Wal-Mart.

In a previous blog I was talking about how expensive my hair products were and that I was dumb not to just bring them with me. Well, I am happy to share that the prices as Wal-Mart are exactly the same as back home! I was so pleased! Andy said my facial expression was funny. How could I not be happy?

We also went and looked at wedding bands and I found the one I want. Andy actually picked it out and after looking at all my options, he was right...as much as I don't want to say it. The one I had originally wanted just didn't look that great on my hand.

Then we went to P.F. Chang's for dinner. It was pretty good and I'll have the left overs for lunch today.

On to other news, Andy has a lot of softball coming up in the next two weeks, which completely caught me off guard to hear (and I might not be very happy about). We made a deal though, softball for 2 weeks and then what ever I want to do in July. Other than that, today will be another laid back day. I think I might finally start watching Sex and the City episodes. There is nothing on T.V. Yesterday I watched Tori and Dean Inn Love marathon. It was very funny. I've been looking at the programing guide this morning and nothing looks interesting.

So with that, I'll let you go now. Please call, text or email me if anyone gets a chance. Bye.

Oh...one more thing. Andy was excited to see the two comments. Thank you ladies!

Things can only get better....right?

Good morning. Well things were pretty tough for me yesterday. I didn't do anything really and watched T.V. all day. I wasn't ready to drive anywhere by myself. Plus, I was sad from being away from everyone.

Last night Andy had a softball game. The other team didn't show up, easy win. Afterwards, Andy, Emil (roommate), and myself went to Cold Stone....yummy! The ice cream was great. The best part was, I drove there. Andy would bring the car to me later today if I wanted, but I'm still not ready.

The greatest thing today is, we're going to WAL-MART! I miss it just being down the road because here, it's far away.

One last thing...Andy isn't feeling any love because no one has left any comments. LOL...so sensitive. I'll talk with everyone again soon.

What's there to complain about?

Hello! Yes, I am in the wonderful paradise of O'ahu or A.K.A. my new home. I landed yesterday at 12:45 PM after 12 hours of traveling. My flight from Houston was 8 hours long! I made it through, although I thought I would toss my cookies at the end when we were landing. Now lets get down to buisness and talk about how...for a lack of a better word...stupid I am. Although, I have to say no one tried to talk me out of out and so I choose to (since this is my blog..LOL) not take full responsibility for my stupidity. With all the changes going on in the airline buisness, you can only check in one bag. Thats fine, I'll pay the 25 bucks for my second bag. I can't downsize that much! But, I didn't really want to pay the 50 dollars for any of the bags weighing over 50 pounds. Sooo...in my grand scheme of trying to be frugal, I thought...hmmm...I just won't take ALL my hair products and I'll just buy them new when I get to Hawaii. WHY oh WHY did no one tell me that was dumb?

Yesterday, after landing, all I wanted to do was take a shower. We stopped at Safeway so I could by the essentials (we all know that a grocery store is more expensive to buy hair stuff than at a regular store like my beloved Wal-Mart). I bought 4 things...4 THINGS! It costed me $37.00. That wasn't what was dumb...I'm still getting to that. We leave Safeway and I think. Why did I not bring my hair stuff and just pay the $50.00 because I only have half of my hair weapons and I've already spend $37.00! What was I thinking!?!?

On the lighter and better sides of things. Andy introduced me to the best pizza. It's thin crust, which I love thin crust...but better than that, it looks like "T.V. Pizza". You know the pizza that is big and gooey and looks yummy. That's what I had for dinner last night and just happen to have for breakfast this morning =).

One more thought. The saying goes "home is where the heart is". I have to say I feel very torn about that saying. While I'm very happy to be here with Andy, I'm so sad that I'm not in Kansas with my family and friends. My heart is there too. So I guess your "home" can be in many places. I miss you guys already!

My summer won't be the same...

Okay, I'm going to make this part short. This past Wednesday I had a little get together with some of my girls...awww. I'll post pics when I get them. It was a fun night although it ended crazy. Five minutes after I got home the tornado sirens went off. Luckily, Junction didn't get hit. Chapman and Manhattan weren't as lucky. Thanks girls for a great night!

The Weekend's Events

WOW! Time is passing by very quickly and before I know it I'll be in Hawaii. I am very busy trying to get everything moved in to my parents house and get packed up. I'm happy to say that I'm almost done. I have hung out with friends...can't have all work and no play. Friday I went to the General's Baseball game with Christine. The best part of the night was seeing and listening to my friend Shawn karaoke. The pictures below are from then.

Andy was active again this weekend. He had softball practice and then went hiking. Andy took pictures of the view from the top. He would like for us to go on the hike...but I almost couldn't do Diamond Head last summer. The truth is, I'll most likely try it out but complain the whole way up.

Crazy Weekend for Andy

Andy had a fun weekend. Saturday he went snorkeling. He hasn't taken any underwater pictures any of the times he went but when I go, I will. This picture is his back. Someone didn't put the sunscreen on very well. On Sunday Andy went paintballing. He got "tore up" (Andy's words about what happened). As you can see from his clothes, he obviously didn't do as well as he did last time he went.
