they say the 2nd day is the worst

Okay, so yestesterday was awful for me. It was hard to walk, get up, sit down, and walk again...lol. We didn't do anything yesterday until about 5 pm. We went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's and had the best cheeseburger. It was made of 3 types of steak and ground. Yummy. I told Andy it was so good because it had Wisconsin chedder cheese. Then went to see Hellboy 2. I thought it was just okay but Andy liked it. It took me a long time to walk to the car, get in the car, get out of the car, and walk again. Then it just happened that Ed and his friend were at the movie too. I saw him and said "I'm not talking to you; I can't walk". They just laughed at me. And continued to laugh at me. I'm hoping I'll be okay, but I have yet to really get out of bed and move around. So I'll let you know how I feel.

We never made it to the restaurant "Top of Wakiki". I still want to go, but I had Andy cancel for Saturday night because we weren't going to make it in time.

Later today I'm going to see if my GPS works on base. We're going to do a test run so I can find my way around. Andy really wants me to start driving more. I want to go to the gym, so I need to learn my way around.

Sooo...I hate to get sappy, but I would like to share a few things with you guys. Last year for Valentines Day, I had my students write me in one sentence...Love is... I did this because I saw that some kids had done this and they wrote about things they saw. My students gave me very technical definitions of what love is. They are too mature. Anyway...I was thinking about how when people think of love, they think of an emotion. But I have come to realize that love is an emotion, but it's the acts that show love that are important. Andy has shown me what is it to be loved. So here is my thoughts.
LOVE IS:

touching my leg in the middle of the night and realizing I'm freezing, finding the covers and putting them on me (its hot, so we usually just sleep with the sheet and the fans on us, no AC)

walking in front of me when we are going down a mountain so he can catch me if I fall

telling me he's proud of me for going as far as I have while I'm sitting on the steps crying because I just don't know if I can keep going

buying my favorite computer game for my DS

him being dead asleep and me hitting my elbow, nose, or knee on the wall (because I sleep next to the wall) and him jumping up to make sure I'm okay

putting my phone and remote control on the bed before he leaves to work. so that way when I get up, I don't have to look for them

Okay...haha...that's enough for now. I just wanted to say it's all the little stuff and I truly appreicate it. NOW...I want you to know that I am just as nice to him (being okay with him playing a double header on our wedding day) as well. But I wanted everyone to know how wonderful my new husband is to me.

I'll let you know how the driving goes and how my muscles feel. I can't remember if I told you guys that I have drove from the double header to home. The double header was on the other side of the mountain and I drove. It's been the farthest I've driven since I've been here. I think I'm almost ready, but by the time I will be, it'll be time to go home.

Talk to you later!

I climbed a mountain!

Good evening. Oh do I have a tale to tell today. In my last post, it gave the plan for today, and it pretty much went just like that. After breakfast and going to the mall so Andy could get new board shorts and one of those tight t-shirts that surfers wear (he looked good) we finally got on our way to climb a mountain. On the way there we stopped and took some pics at the lookouts. Then it was time. We climbed Diamond Head last summer and they had said this is harder. It doesn't look hard but it is. Thank goodness for the camera stamping the time on pictures, it took me 2 and 1/2 hours to go up and back down. Andy was very patient with me and very motivating. While I had to stop A LOT, I never wanted to quit and was determined to make it up. We met quite a few people and one guy even gave us two waters. Andy didn't really want me to put this in, but I believe in being honest and telling the story completely. I cried two times while doing this hike. It was the hardest, physical thing I have ever done. Once going up and I was about two-thirds done. It was so steep and hot going up. I then cried at the "top". It wasn't the top, it was just the top of the stairs. Then we had to walk up some rocks. I cried and told Andy "you said this was the top and it's not". It was just too much for me; I was ready to be done. The view from the top was nice, but my muscles were sore already and I didn't care very much to hang out long. I wanted off the mountain and the only way to get off was to go back down. It wasn't bad going down but I did sort of twist my ankle. It was dirt, rocks, and my footing was a little unsteady. Andy helped me down by holding my hand when it was hard.

When we got down the mountain we went to Haunama Bay so Ed, his friend, and Andy could snorkel. I was happy to lay on the beach and listen to my Ipod. But I did get into the water and hang out for a little bit. Then we had dinner at Outback. We are both happy to be home in bed now. I can't imagine how I'm going to feel tomorrow and Monday because I already feel sore. My poor muscles haven't worked this hard in a long time. I put pics below and I'll caption them so you know what you're looking at. Talk with you later.

Right before we climbed the mountain with my game face on.

Just 1/3 up and I'm giving it the thumbs down.

The mountain in the background is Diamond Head and we are above it now.

Just made it to the top.

At the top. I love this picture!

Happy Saturday!

Even though it's Saturday, here I am up at 6:37 am writing a blog. Actually, I had stuff to talk about and Andy wanted to still sleep. But, then he decided he wanted to play Call of Duty instead. Andy was funny (he's usually not..lol). I read him my horoscope that said, "Don't you deserve to be a bit selfish once in a while? Focus on yourself more." He said " okay, you focus on you and I'll focus on me and go back to sleep." But then started playing his game. He focuses on himself a lot then cause he plays all the time! haha

So today we're going to go on a hike up a mountain. I'm about to be in trouble. It's the hike that Andy went on before I got here. I think I might kick and scream the whole way up, but I'll get to the top just the same. I'm bringing my Ipod, so maybe having music will help me climb the mountain. I'll take pics for sure of me at the top.

Afterwards, we're going to Hanauma Bay so Ed and Andy can go snorkeling again. Ed has a friend that's a girl in town this weekend. You'd think he would want to spend more one-on-one time with her. I could try snorkeling again, and I might....but I would be just happy laying on the beach. I'll take pics of the bay too, since last time I didn't. I might even be able to get a pic of Andy's burnt legs. We're going to get more sun block today and put it all over him. I think over me too.

This evening we have reservations at a place called Top of Waikiki. The restaurant spins and has amazing views. Someone recommended it to us, so of course I had to check it out on the internet. I'm pretty excited to go.

Oh my gosh! I almost forgot to tell you how for our wedding I could of had a big fat lip! The night before, while we were sleeping, Andy always twitches and jumps in his sleep. Apparently I close to him and my mouth was near his shoulder. Yup, perfect time for him to twitch. Hit me square in the mouth. Luckily there was no damage done and he felt bad about it. Or at least he said he did...hmmm....LOL. Looking back it was funny, I just gotta remember to stay on my side of the bed...haha.

Wedding Day!

Yes, we are now officially married! Our day started early. We had breakfast with Ed, a friend of Andy's, at the Koa Pancake House. Yummy banana pancakes and a ham and cheese omelet that might be just as good as my dad's (I kept stealing bites from Andy's omelet). Then I went and had my toes and fingernails polished. I kept trying to go before today, but I couldn't get in any where. Kind of crazy, 2 hours before the wedding and getting my nails done. With 45 min. before the ceremony, we had just enough time to put on make-up (me) and shave (Andy). It's a good thing I did my hair before breakfast...but maybe it wasn't a good idea to have in down. We'll talk about that later. Andy made sure to put lots of sunblock before when we got to the beach. Here are pics from the ceremony. I have to say, it was pretty perfect except for my hair. It was windy and my hair was all over the place. But I prefer that instead of my make-up melting off of my face from it being hot.

There are a lot more pics, but I just chose a few to share right now. It's is 11:38 at night and I'm tired. So I'll put more up later. After the wedding, we had lunch and then met up with Ed again. Him, another friend, and us went to the beach. Andy got very sunburned on his legs. It is very funny looking. I guess he thought all his hair would protect him, but the sun just doesn't like him much I guess. Coldstone ice cream helped us cool down. By the time we got home and took a shower it was time to turn around and go to softball....ugh! Andy didn't get his shirt dried in time...so here was the solution:

LOL...dry it while on the highway! WOW! Unfortunately, they played a much better team tonight and lost. BUT...the other team was helping them out. It was a practice to help prepare for regionals in San Diego.

While it was a very unconventional wedding day, we laughed a lot of enjoyed the day with old and new friends. It really was a wonderful day.

Well, everything is almost planned

Andy and I are getting married in less than 24 hours and we don't have very much planned. He still doesn't really know what he's wearing. Thank goodness earlier this week I found my dress. It's white...I know, I know! White! Well if anyone wants to talk trash about me for wearing white, so be it. I wasn't planning on wearing white, but I liked the dress. My mom thinks Andy should wear a Hawaiian shirt and white pants...hmmm...I just can't see it.

We did pick a beach and the spot we're going to have the ceremony. I hope it works out...you never know with mother nature.

Andy has invited several people from his work and softball team...so we might have people there! If not, its okay with me. Afterwards, we would like to go somewhere nice to have lunch...but I don't know where yet. The place we thought would be good, won't be open yet. And here again, I don't know if it would just be Andy or I or some of the guests too. I know some of them have to work, but other don't have to. Hmmm...I should ask Andy about that.

Okay, here's the kicker....SOFTBALL! We never get away from softball do we? Andy has a double header on Friday night. Yes, that is the day we're getting married. Andy loves softball, so I told him it was okay with me if he played. Plus I knew he really wanted to play or else he wouldn't have told me about it. And really...we didn't have anything else planned. I'm just thankful that I have someone to talk with now. It makes the time go by faster.

Anyway, I guess that's it for now. Talk with you soon.

Holy 4th at State (Andy's idea)

Hi everyone. I'm sorry its been so long since I've written. It has been a long week. Where do I start?

Andy and I met with the base Chaplin early last week. He has agreed to marry us. On the beach..yippee!! So a date has been set for Friday, July 11th. I know...it is right around the corner!

I also finally got to go to the famous Bob's Bar. It's the local hang out here in town. It was okay but I like Coach's were I have a special drink and people know who I am. Nothing is like being at home.

Now on to the most important (yeah right!) part of the weekend. Andy just corrected me...the WHOLE weekend, not part. I very much missed being in Kansas for the 4th. I always enjoy going to the parade and to Sundown Salute. It just wasn't quite the same. But Andy kept me entertained for sure! He had a state softball tournament. It started on Friday. They lost the first game which put them in the loser bracket. They looked good and only lost by 2, but couldn't pull it out. Andy had a pop up in the last inning which didn't help the situation (he didn't want me to right that, but I am a firm believer in telling the whole story). He did redeem himself over and over on Saturday. With the idea of going home, the team rallied and played 3 games on Saturday. One game they run ruled a team. It was a very exciting day. The only bad thing was...okay..two bad things. One, it was soooo hot, but I have a nice tan on my arms and Andy has a red neck and face. Too bad for him....LOL. The other bad thing was, he had a 9:00 AM game on Sunday! I had to get up at 6:30! I was not happy about that. Luckily, they won the first game. Although they weren't as lucky the second game. That team spanked them. They ended up getting 4th place out of 19. The two teams they lost to were in the final game going for 1st and 2nd which stroked their egos a little bit and took the sting out of the loss.

I did, in between all these games, get to hang out at a pool and see some fireworks.

With all the softball going on this weekend, we didn't get to go on base and see any concerts or go to the carnival. Andy is old and needed rest...okay, me too. Oh wait! The best part of the weekend! Andy had to wear pants instead of shorts. He finally looked like a ball player instead of a basketball player playing softball. Check out the picture.
