I know that some of you out there knew we were pregnant, we hadn't announced it to the world though. But today I did on facebook and now on here. With the last pregnancy ending in a miscarriage, I was quite reluctant to tell people until I had confirmation that the baby was doing well. Today I had my first doctors appointment and after me begging and pleading, I was given an ultrasound. Actually, my anxiety was what made them decide to give me one. Not good to stress out with a baby inside of you. My appointment was at 8 this morning and finally at about 1:30 I was given the ultrasound. It was indeed a long day. And emotionally draining as I had to recount how and when I miscarried to several people. I was lucky enough to have my good friend Annie come with me. She's a bit...anxious herself. She is very good at asking questions and getting things clarified. Annie waited the long hours with me and without her, I may have just had a breakdown. The next time we get to see a picture of the baby, Andy will be back. If the baby cooperates, that is when we will find out the sex of the baby. Lets get back to day's events as I have gone off the path.
Finally, I saw the baby on the screen. I also saw and heard the baby's heartbeat. It was in the 140's. The doctor said that everything looked and felt perfect. So now, I would like to introduce you to our little Baby Bates:
The head is on the right side and the bubble on the left side is the yolk sac that the baby gets his/her nutrients from. I put this on here just in case anyone is unaware of this information (as I am one of them people). Andy thinks its a very clear picture and if you look closely, you can see Baby Bates' arms and legs up against the body. We are so happy and excited.

We are officially 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant today. Our due date is Feb. 24th.
