Yesterday I started to feel sick. I knew I had a four day weekend (jealous?) coming up so I thought I could fight it off for one day. Oh man! Last night I felt awful and this morning I felt even worse! Barely crawling out of bed and getting myself ready for work, all I could keep thinking was...you can make it, you can make it. Well I made it. Not to mention we had a pretty decent day. With an assembly, a library lesson, a spelling test, and music/pe...I wasn't going to do a lot of talking or teaching.
For the library lesson, we taste tested apples...red delicious, golden delicious, and granny smith. The majority of the class decided they like the golden delicious. Red delicious were still my favorite although Abby said that I would like the green best. Nope, sorry Abby. Those green ones were sooo tart. The faces we made when we took a bite was priceless! We then made a picture graph and talked about some math vocabulary. The coolest part was the librarian made the graph on the SMART board and the kids slid (for lack of a better word) their favorite apple from the basket to the graph.
READING UPDATE: Today I was given some good news by the teacher in charge of our reading program. She has been doing some testing of my reading students and we get to skip 6 books! They are doing so well. I hope I have something to do with their success.
