It's all about Andy

It has been several days since I've actually written about what has been going on. So, here we go.

First, I just realized that when I do my posts, the time reflects KS time and not HI time. And I can't figure out how to change it. So if anyone who does the blog can tell me, I'd appreciate it.

Next, yesterday we bought my ticket to San Diego. This has been causing me a lot of stress for the past several weeks. I think I've written how Andy is playing in regionals for softball in San Diego. I think he is going to play against other military bases around the U.S. If he didn't get permission to go, he'd be leaving on deployment on the 1st. So I'm glad they said he could go because now we can be together for 3 extra weeks. BUT...the person in charge of this whole thing doesn't know a whole lot of whats going on. We're told one thing and then it changes. I've come to realize that's a trend in the military world. Anywho...I had decided that it was too much stress and that I wouldn't go to San Diego. It made me sad though. He would be state side for 9 days and I'd be in KS. I have to say that the cost of the trip really freaked me out too. The plane ticket was going to have to be purchased regardless, but then there's the rental car and what if I can't stay with Andy and have to get my own hotel room. In the end though, we decided that all that didn't matter. We are about to be separated for 4 months. And while money is important (we all know it is), making memories together is more important. So yesterday we bought my ticket to San Diego. Now, here's were it gets good. I leave the day after Andy is supposed to leave. No biggie, I think. I know someone will get me to the airport. But then I have to pick up the rental car and drive to where ever Andy is. I am not good at directions at all! One of the best things I've ever bought was a GPS for my cell phone. So I feel comfortable about that. Driving in Cali, not so sure about. I've never had to get myself from the airport to somewhere else. Someone has always picked me up. Can we say NERVOUS! I'm so sheltered. I am however, excited to see my family who live in Cali. They don't live far from where we'll be.

Wow...I just wrote a lot. Here are some pictures that I've taken and forgot about. All of Andy.

A picture from Sharks Cove. The land area on the other side of the water is where they film the TV show LOST. The side we are on is a very secluded part of the island. The towns around there like to keep it that way and fight that nothing really be built on this part of the island.

Sharks Cove. See how rocky it is? That's good for snorkeling because the fish gravitate to the rocks but not good for people like me who want the beach and water, no rocks!
Andy right before heading out. What do you think of his shirt? LOL...he hates the way it looks but loves the function. He doesn't get burned!
Andy and his crazy softball "outfit" that he wore at Monday's softball game. Behind him is a softball player, Lugey, from another team. But they play together on the base softball team that will be going to San Diego.
