On Saturday, Andy had a softball tournament for his command team. They got 3rd place out of 9 teams. Being in the sun for 7 hours was wonderful for my tan although my butt hurt from sitting for so long. Andy struck out 3 times and 2 of them were in the first game! I have watched him play a lot of softball this summer and he has never done that bad. He redeemed himself, but not before having to owe the team a case of beer. We went right after that game and bought it. Saturday evening we had been invited to a wine party. We don't drink wine, but we thought we'd go anyway and bring what we wanted to drink. Nina also recommend a good wine to bring with us. But after the long day in the sun, we decided we just wanted to come home, take showers and hang out. That would have been a lovely idea except about 20 min. after getting home, the power went out in our neighborhood. Andy said, lets go to dinner and watch a movie...and I thought it was a great idea. With no electricity, I couldn't cook dinner and we didn't have our fans to keep us cool. We went to watch Step Brothers. The funniest movie of the year, hands down! We haven't laughed that much in a long time.
Today we had planned on going to the beach. My face got a little too much sun yesterday and I decided that I didn't want to go after all. Instead Andy played his beloved Call of Duty 4 online with his brothers and friends for 6 hours. Yes, I said 6 hours. I was okay with that. I laid around, watched him play, played on the internet, and took a few naps. I wanted to watch the movie again, so I took Andy out for pizza and a movie. It was just as funny the second time around. It isn't a good movie to take kids to. It has A LOT of cuss words.
And so, our weekend has come to an end and the work week begins. Before that happens though, I decided to make brownies. Andy just took them out of the oven and I'm excited to eat one with a welch's strawberry soda. Yummy! Andy will have milk, which I'm sure is a more popular choice with all the readers. Good night.
