Last night I had a dream about school. I dream about school, the teachers, my friends (that are teachers, and the kids a lot. I am sad because the school year is about to start and I won't be starting with them. There is always some
excitement when we go back. It's nice to see everyone again and catch up. Although it is a lot of work to prepare a classroom for the first day of school, partly because you are still on "summer mode" and there are just a lot of things to reorganize and rearrange, I enjoy it so much. I probably feel like the kids do as they are getting all their school supplies and getting them organized in
their book bags. You remember that feeling, don't you? Over that past few weeks I've really missed not teaching. Some of you (my teacher friends) are probably thinking, "are you crazy!". Usually around this time of summer vacation, I'm ready to go back to school. The difference this time is that I have no school to go back to. The craziest thing of all, is that before coming out to Hawaii, I thought that maybe I wouldn't teach and just get a job. But I now realize that I want to be in the classroom. In the classroom I feel the happiest and most fulfilled.

I believe that truly good teachers have that feeling- that they just can't imagine being anywhere else. I mean, I am smart enough and could have a great, well-paying job at some office or something, but I love being in the classroom and working with kids and can't believe that I get paid to do it! We'll miss you this year!
